Artist Statement

My painting practice explores the relationship between the human body, nature, memory, and the idea of home. Through layered surfaces, organic forms, trees, birds, and natural textures, I examine themes of migration, belonging, resilience, and transformation. I work primarily with acrylic on canvas, building surfaces through multiple layers of paint and texture. My recent body of work, Home: A Ritual of Return, considers home not simply as a physical place, but as something we continually create, carry, and rebuild.
