Calgary, AB
David Belcourt is a contemporary painter based in Calgary, Alberta.
In the pursuit to understand oneself, painting and drawing have always been David's primary literacy. Through the discipline of visual art, he makes sense of his purpose, both internally and to the environment that surrounds him. As my focus is often divided over a number of series at any given time, his process is to navigate through conflict continuously challenge myself, and encourage critical thought.
David completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary in 1997 and finished a Bachelor of Education in 2014. His 2023 solo exhibition, Making Sense at Ruberto Ostberg Gallery, Calgary featured an impressive 55 paintings covering 2 floors.
