Creating realism paintings in oil,  Bethany's  paintings surround themes of daydreaming, the passage of time, an ever growing fondness for familiarity and the act of looking with and for joy in day to day life. This work aims to capture both the actual moment and the other associations with the moment such as daydreams or memories simultaneously. Often depicting scenes with bouncing light, water, sky, glimpses of people or objects typically caught in fleeting moments. At times, linked to formative memories which have been found again in moments of inattention where time and space blur, creating a meeting point for the past, present and future within my paintings.
